The awards began in 2012 as a joint project of the 3 Rotary Clubs of the City of Glenorchy which combined the annual Rotary Pride of Workmanship Awards for trainees and apprentices. Last year, in conjunction with the Moonah and Glenorchy Business Association, the awards were extended to include a category for employees and we were very pleased with the interest this new category generated with employers throughout the City.
In 2014 a new category has been introduced. In addition to rewarding trainees, apprentices and employees, this year the Awards are seeking to acknowledge businesses within the City through the introduction of a business award. Businesses are being invited to nominate for the award by completing the nomination form.
Members of the public are able to nominate a business by contacting us through our website and asking us to contact the business and request them complete the nomination questionnaire form.
It is hoped that this new category, and the entry survey, will encourage local businesses to reflect on and tell the community what they do well. As a further incentive, The Glenorchy Gazette is offering a $1000 advertising package to the winning business.
The message is simple – employers, here is an opportunity to recognise and reward your employees. Business owners, here is an opportunity to promote your business and for the community an opportunity to recognise and reward businesses that serve you well.
